| WHO ARE YOU |

01.) What are your goals in life?
Well, my primary goal at this point in time is to get a better job than the one I currently have, as well as possibly further my education. I would like to strike out on my own as a person, and not have to rely on the help of others. I would also like to write, and possibly publish, at least one book or short story.

02.) What do you care about most?
To be honest, I care the most about my current position in life, as well as my emotional, physical, and mental well-being, as that is something I often have problems with keeping healthy and is something I worry about constantly.

03.) What is one thing you would change about the world today?
Of all the things that I think need to be changed in the world today, one of the top things I think about is the perception of women and other minorities. For all that things are better, there is still discrimination and a lot of it is subversive. I often think that we are backsliding, and if I could change, I would remove that discrimination so that everyone is truly equal, instead of everyone being toted as equal yet still truly unequal.

04.) Is there anything in your life that you regret?
Yes. I regret not being there for my grandfather when he passed, and for not spending more time next to him when he was dying. I regret letting my grades backslide in college, and that I was too scared to try and change majors, or at least try to do better in classes. I regret shoving away our old cat Mellow when he was obviously very old to the point of senility, and I regret not saying goodbye to our other pets Trixie, Jill, and Beau when they were put to sleep. I also regret letting my mom keep me under her thumb, no matter how much I chafe.

05.) Describe your top positive characteristics.
Um. Well, I'm a very organized and punctual person, I'm a decent writer, and I'm also very helpful and a rather nice person. I can often be funny, although my humor is quite odd, and I'm not afraid to tell the truth. I'm also rather sneaky and stealthy, although that could possibly also count as a negative characteristic.

06.) Describe your top negative characteristics.
I can be self-centered, selfish, a bit overbearing, kind of controlling although that's something I try not to be, I 'm very shy and not very social, and I have a bad tendency to let certain people push me around. I can also be unintentionally loud and obnoxious although I'm usually rather quiet. Also, I can be kind of blunt and tactless, and I delight in startling people. Also, I procrastinate.

07.) Pick a favorite quote and explain what it means to you.
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." -- The Road Not Taken, Robert Frost

This is from one of my favorite poems, although to be honest, I don't have all that many since I'm not a poetry person. Anyways, these lines have always meant something to me, because the speaker took the harder path instead of just going the easy route. Although the one route is more difficult, its also more rewarding because you have the pride in knowing that you pushed yourself, but you also worked for what you got, which is probably more than just taking the easy route. Even if it doesn't matter to other people, it still matters to you, and even if the reward at the end of the path may look bleak at first, it is still worth it.

08.) Who is your favorite Harry Potter character?
Severus Snape is my favorite, for all of his faults. Even after he saved Harry's life in his first year, he still tried to protect him even though he no longer had the burden of James Potter's life debt. Part of this could be attributed to his love for Lily Potter, or his duty as a professor, but even so, he could have chosen not to help. I find that Snape's anger over Harry discovering his memories in the Pensieve was more over his embarrassment rather than Harry actually finding his memories, if only because he gave Harry his memories while he was dying. He's also the person who gave Harry the most memories of his parents, both good and bad, although Hagrid probably comes a close second with that photo album. Snape was the only person to realize that Harry wasn't a clone of James Potter, although he certainly acted like it. He tried to make up for his mistakes, and although he still dislikes the Marauders, that doesn't mean he won't help. Also, a lot of Snape's personality is skewed by the view of a schoolboy who doesn't actually know him all that well, and only sees what he wants to see, as shown when he thought Snape was the bad guy in the first book.

09.) Least favorite?
Albus Dumbledore. I get that through a lot of the series, he was trying to protect Harry and let him live as a normal boy without the knowledge that he may have to die looming over him, but if he had died earlier than planned, then Harry would have been up a creek without a paddle. Even then, Harry still had a heck of a time figuring out what to do in the seventh book, and quite a bit of what he achieved was due to sheer luck. He also seemed to have lost sight of the trees in the forest, and seemed to have several plans going on at once without regard for whom it affected. Cases in point: having something the Dark Lord wanted to steal behind rudimentary traps in the middle of a school still going through term. Not evacuating the school when something is going around petrifying people, and said something killed at least one person in the past. Not putting better protections around the Goblet, and letting a fourteen year old boy compete in a well-known fatal tournament meant for older students at the same level as said older students (and to be honest, probably the only reason Harry didn't die a gruesome death was because Crouch was trying to make it easy for him so he could enter a trap). Not noticing that his old friend Alastor Moody is acting a bit off, because there is no way that Barty Crouch Jr. knew the former auror well enough to pull off all his mannerisms and knowledge. Not nipping several things in the bud, even after the fact, up to and including Draco's attempts on him that harmed other members of the student body. Even his housing of Remus Lupin while he was in school was very dangerous and foolhardy, especially since I get the impression that he wasn't secured in the Shrieking Shack all that well. Albus Dumbledore had several good intentions, but he just didn't do his job or often overstepped it. Besides, I think that he was still wrapped up in the past, primarily in Ariana and Gellert, and he never got past the pain they caused him.

10.) Who would you have been friends with at Hogwarts?
That's.....kind of difficult to say, because while I think Hermione, Harry, and I could be friends, their personalities would eventually grate on me. I think I would get along fabulously with Luna though, because she has the sort of quirky personality that I tend to really hit it off with. Most of the other minor characters don't have much of a defined personality, and the ones that do, I don't think I would be close friends with. However, if I was in Tonks' year or close to it, I also think I would get along with her fairly well. I'd also probably get along with several of the Slytherins, if only because they seem to be kind of snarky, and I like snarky people.

11.) What would you most enjoy about your time at Hogwarts?
Hmmm. I'd probably most enjoy hanging out with my friends in whatever random corner in the castle we manage to find and claim for ourselves, although the learning magic thing would probably be a close second.

12.) Describe each of the four houses as you see them:
Gryffindor: They are the people who do what others won't, who stand up or speak out when others are too scared to do so, and aren't afraid to do the right thing even if it will get them killed, and sometimes they don't actually think about the consequences. This can backfire, especially if what they think is the 'right thing' is not necessarily the right thing, such as Peter Pettigrew, who thought that the 'right thing' was to follow the side most likely to win and keep him safe in the long run, especially since the Ministry was obviously corrupt and Dumbledore had more than a few issues.

Hufflepuff: They stick together, and will stand up for friends or family due to a sense of loyalty rather than any notions of bravery or the 'right thing'. They might seem weak, but hidden beneath that exterior are cores of steel and a definite will to fight anything that threatens those they hold dear.

Ravenclaw: They will often speak out in the search for knowledge without caring who gets in their way. They're intelligent and cunning, but direct that more towards the quest for information rather than any desire for power or success. However, they tend to believe in the written word, and are often too consumed to notice facts that can be gathered from other people and ongoing events. Some Ravenclaws direct their quest to more eccentric paths such as Luna, who is often ridiculed by other people including her own housemates for searching for 'imaginary creatures'.

Slytherin: They will only speak up if it benefits them in some way, and several of them don't care who gets in their way because they take their ambition and drive much too far. They can be highly intelligent and cunning, but aren't always as subtle and discreet as they probably should be. If they look for information, then it is only so that they can help themselves through achieving power or success. They'll do anything, although this is often within reason and not necessarily blatant, to turn events in their favor.

13.) Which house do you feel the least affinity for?
That is very difficult, since I think I feel a bit of affinity for all of the houses. I think that I have the least affinity for Ravenclaw, because while I do like knowledge, I don't believe everything I get out of a book and don't bulldoze my way over or through people, or feel a need to flaunt my intelligence. I'm smart, but I don't think that's my main quality, and I'm not interested in keeping up to the intellectual standards Ravenclaws are often saddled with.
