| WHO ARE YOU |

01.) What are your goals in life?
- To go back to school and finish my degree. I never quite made it all the way through college and that is my biggest regret in life. I would like to one day go back and finish, just to be able to say I accomplished it (or at least to not feel like I failed to accomplish it) even if I don't need the degree to be successful in my career.
- To get a better job. Right now, I am working at Walmart. There are worse jobs and I'm glad to HAVE a job, at least, but it doesn't provide much in the way of financial security and I can't say I really love my job.
-
To write a novel. Or possibly more than one. I've been getting into writing again lately and I have a few ideas in my head that I've jotted down. It's a recent goal, but I would love to be a published author someday.

02.) What do you care about most? This is a difficult question to answer. I care about my own security and comfort. I care about my family and my closest friends. I care about my cat. I care about my computer, my iPhone, my Nook. It sounds bad to admit, but I do care about material things. I love technology. I love movies and tv. I like to knit.

03.) What is one thing you would change about the world today? Teleporters. I would make teleporters real so that we could instantly travel from one place to another. Or make airfare a helluva lot cheaper. I have a little bit of wanderlust. I've lived in a lot of different places, because I have a tendency to move from place to place for whatever reason. As a result of that and the Internet, I have friends scattered across the world. I have family pretty spread out, too (sisters in Canada, Phoenix, and New York, Mom and brother in South Dakota, cousins in Florida and Indiana). I don't have the means to visit them all nearly as much as I would like to, so it would be really fantastic if there was an easy and affordable way to do that. So.. teleporters. Or cheaper airfare. Or a TARDIS.

04.) Is there anything in your life that you regret? I do my best to live my life with no regrets. Life is too short to spend it looking back at the past. I think there are decisions I have made that I sometimes look back on and wonder "what if" I'd chosen differently, but every decision has led me to where and who I am today, so officially I will say that I have no regrets, because I like who and where I am.

05.) Describe your top positive characteristics.
- Tenacious - I don't give up easily. I don't back down from what I want. If I experience a setback, I just find another way to approach things. I get back up and I try again. I don't let myself stay discouraged for long.
- Intelligent - Not to sound egotistical (oh, who are we kidding, this is ME), but I'm smart. Not just book smart, although I do like to thing I am fairly well-read and educated, despite not having finished my college degree. I'm good at solving problems. I can think for myself. I have common sense (which, sadly, isn't very common).
- Tech Savvy - I'm pretty much a genius when it comes to technology. When it comes to computers, there is little I can't fix or figure out. I just recently replaced a part in my best friend's old PC laptop that required removing EVERY part in the thing and got it working again. I can fix a Mac in my sleep. When there are problems with technology at work, people tend to come to me to fix it.
- Easygoing/Adaptable - I can generally fit in to almost any situation/group/etc. I'm pretty easygoing and it doesn't take a lot for me to adapt to change. In fact, I thrive on change. I get bored if things are constantly the same. I like variety in life. Be that as it may, I also think I'm pretty good at rolling with life's little punches. I don't freak out when things don't go as planned. I roll with it and make a new plan. No big deal.
- Passionate - I can be passionate about the things and people I believe in. Apple products, technology in general, the people closest to me, knitting, my cat. I am the first to defend the things and people I care about when they are being hurt or abused or attacked in any way. Sometimes this can be a bad thing when it sparks my temper, but I happen to like my passion, tyvm.

06.) Describe your top negative characteristics.
- Judgmental - I'm a really judgmental person. Especially when it comes to things like a lack of common sense. I'm quick to make judgments about people and tbqh, there aren't a lot of people in the world I truly like.
- Intimidating - I have been told by several people that I am intimidating. I can't begin to count the number of people I've met through friending memes and such who have told me they were afraid to talk to me, because they were intimidated by my awesomeness. I list this as a bad thing only because it's likely I've missed out on some good friendships with some cool people because they were afraid to approach me.
-
Stubborn - Once I set my mind to something, I don't let go of it easily. Once you piss me off, it's hard to get back on my good side. If I decide to not like someone or something, it's probably going to be that way forever or at least for a really long time. If you tell me to do something, I might do the opposite just to be contrary.
- Egotistical - I think I'm awesome. This isn't necessarily a bad trait to have, but sometimes my ego really gets the better of me. I get cocky and screw things up for myself and I'm sure my ego can be off-putting to some. I pretty much think I'm better than a lot of people, which goes back to the judgmental thing.
- Snarky - I can be really snarky, even if I tend to save it for my closest friends. It seems stupid to snark and be a bitch to everyone's faces when it works so much more in my favor to have people think I'm such a nice person, but I can definitely be a snarky bitch when I want to be. I'm just careful to confine the snarking to people I can trust not to blab if I don't want it to get out.

07.) Pick a favorite quote and explain what it means to you.
Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits. the rebels, the troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them
Because they change things. They push the human race forward.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world
Are the ones who do.

- Apple Think Different Ad

This is forever my favorite ad campaign and one of my favorite quotes in general. I still get chills watching the commercial. (What, yes, I do pull it up on You Tube from time to time) It takes a certain amount of crazy to change the world. It takes vision. It takes courage. It takes passion. This is the ad campaign that made me really fall in love with Apple. This quote sums up how I see the world - the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.

08.) Who is your favorite Harry Potter character?
Ugh. I have to pick one? I guess I would have to go with Hermione Granger, because I could relate to her from the beginning. She was an annoying know-it-all who tried way too hard. Her showing off to Ron and Harry was obviously a desperate attempt to make friends with them and it failed miserably, because who wants to be bossed around like that, yeah? But as we get to know her, we see how much heart she has. I never saw Hermione's bookishness as her defining trait. I know there are those who think she belonged in Ravenclaw, but she is pure Lion. She's fierce. She's passionate. She's very much driven by her emotions. I love her for that. Even her fear of failure is something I can relate to.

09.) Least favorite?
I'm going to go with Draco Malfoy, even though I know a lot of people disagree with this. I just never really cared about him. I think that was the flaw in telling the story from Harry's point of view. We don't get to see what makes the other characters tick and I never got a sense of Draco being anything more than a spoiled bully, even in Halfblood Prince. I like characters whose fate I care about one way or another. I like characters I can either love or hate. With Draco, though, I was always fairly apathetic.

10.) Who would you have been friends with at Hogwarts?
Friends? What are those? Honestly, I don't have a ton of friends in real life, so Hogwarts would probably have been much the same for me. I might have one or two friends who I had common interests, etc with, but I probably also would have spent a lot of my time studying so that I wouldn't fail all my classes. I think I would have been friends with Hermione, definitely, because I relate to her a lot, but I'm honestly not sure who else, especially since friendship is a two way street, not just up to who I would have wanted to be friendly with.

11.) What would you most enjoy about your time at Hogwarts?
Magic, DUH. And possibly Quidditch, except that in reality I am horribly afraid of heights and probably would not be caught dead on a broom. I would still love watching, though, and I would love learning how to do magic. Just imagine how useful it would all be! I've thought a million times that I wish I could summon things. Sadly. "accio breakfast" never works for me.

12.) Describe each of the four houses as you see them:
Gryffindor: Bold, fierce, passionate. Not all lions are in your face brave, but there's a certain kind of boldness and fierceness to them. I see Gryffindors as the type to want to change the world. I also see them as the types most prone to losing their tempers.

Hufflepuff: Tenacious and loyal. Hufflepuffs are definitely not pushovers. They're fiercely loyal. They're protective. They're hardworking. They're also lucky to live so close to the kitchens. Just saying.

Ravenclaw: Eagles value wisdom and learning above all else. They're kind of the nerds of the Harry Potter world. I also see Ravenclaws as the creative types, the ones who can think outside the box, the ones who often march to the beat of their own drummer.

Slytherin: Ambitious, cunning, loyal to their own. Slytherins are the hardest to get a read on, because most Slytherins aren't likely to reveal too much of themselves to outsiders. They have ambitious, they know how to get what they want. They have their own brand of loyalty, but it's selective and I don't see most Slytherins as the type to place even their loved ones above their own comfort and security. If an outsider attacks one of their own, though... watch out.

13.) Which house do you feel the least affinity for? Hufflepuff. I abhor hard work unless it's going to get me somewhere (recognition, money? yes, please), I'm not all the loyal in general, with very few exceptions who have earned that loyalty. The only Hufflepuff trait I see in myself is my tenacity and looking at the Puffs I know in real life, I just don't identify with their core traits at all. I think Puffs are AWESOME, but I really don't think I am one.
